This week has been good. Had lots of visitors and nice meals out. However the main thing is that today I bought my wedding jewellery after a lot of pondering. I spotted a beautiful set in Paul Smith in Leeds, they had a number of vintage items in store and this was perfect, aurora borealis style crystals in a bow shape and matching earrings. I’ll post a picture at some point, but the groom doesn’t want to see it and I don’t want to risk him seeing this.
Anyway, I thought I would theme this blog around Alice in Wonderland, since the Tim Burton film has just been released and everywhere is producing some amazing Wonderland themed ranges. Here is a pick of my favourites.
This is the most amazing things I’ve seen. Disney Couture always have amazing ranges, however, the range they have produced with designer Tom Binns is incredible, this is my favourite:
The workmanship is amazing, the detail is amazing and it would be such a fantastic thing to own forever, a great collectable item. I also like it because it is an homage to Alice in Wonderland without being so obvious.
Another thing I’ve seen that I’m a big fan of, linked to my recent obsession with crazy nail colours (Barry M Nail Paint rocks!) OPI have brought out a Alice collection, my favourite colour being the Mad Hatter one, I’m hoping these colours come out like the Barry M glitter colours come out, like solid glitter.
The final thing that I’ve seen that I love is the Swarovski collection, again tastefully done and lovely quality. Items to invest in: http://www.swarovski.com/Web_GB/en/magazine?contentid=10007.110047
I have yet to see the film, I’m sceptical as I feel that Tim Burton has a habit of being very predictable, sticking to his commercial version of ‘quirky’ that will appeal to the goth type teenagers and such like. Adapting such a classic story as well will always cause some difficulties.
