After a number of tweets regarding my recent instagram photo of my tea collection I’ve decided to do a series of tea review. Here’s the first one!

The first tea is from Dragonfly Tea, purchased from Waitrose and is called Cape Malay Rooibos Chai. As the name suggests it is a Rooibos tea (Redbush tea) with Chai flavours. I was introduced to this tea by my dear friend Beth, a true tea expert! Whenever you are offered a cuppa at Beth’s it’s tough to choose, she has so many different flavours!

Rooibos tea is naturally caffeine free and rich in anti oxidants, but without tasting too different from regular black tea. Great before bed & very soothing.

This Organic tea from Dragonfly Tea, contains only natural ingredients, with the tag line ‘Pure tea no compromises’ this flavour is Rooibos, flavoured with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, chicory, cloves & black pepper.

When you open this pack for the first time you really smell the spices, reminds me of Christmas & hot cross buns! You’ll be glad to know it keeps it’s smell when brewed, so nice! Comforting, soothing & a little bit festive!

The instructions recommend brewing for 2-4 mins, I was impatient & didn’t brew for long, but it was still nice. A longer brew would naturally result in a stronger flavour.

Delicious once brewed, this is a strong flavoured tea, not that different from a black tea but with the added yummy kick of the chai spices! I had mine with milk, but it works black too & as iced tea.

Definitely going to become a firm favourite and a great alternative to caffeinated tea. Each tea bag is individually packed, which I think keeps it fresher & means that they are great for popping in your bag to take to work!

Want to try this tea? I’ll choose one Twitter follower to post a bag to, simply share my blog link tagging me, @JayneJRead and hashtag #jaynestea
