Review: Topshop Cream Blush in Butterscotch

Another item I picked up in a #bbswap. I’ve been interested in trying the Topshop make up ever since it was released, but seeing as generally speaking I’m not a fan of cheap make up, I haven’t bothered purchasing. I managed to pick up this Topshop Cream Blush in Butterscotch in a swap, so was pleased to get to try it finally!

First off, can I just say how much I love the packaging? I know I’m a sucker for nice packaging, but it’s got to be said, the hand drawn polka dot pattern is just perfect. The compact contains a mirror and is a good size and easy to open.

This is a very unusual shade for me to try, as I’m usually a pink blusher wearer. This one is a bronzer colour with a touch of peach undertones and a shimmery finish. The texture is like a dry cream, soft and silky and easy to blend. My only thoughts are that it’s not as pigmented as I’d like, it’s a sheer colour, where the shimmer and texture add a healthy glow to the skin, whereas, normally I’m after strong matte colour for my cheeks. Here it is on my face for you to see the effect.

It’s totally not my usual thing, but I think it looks really nice. A very subtle finish, but definitely a nice healthy glow to the skin. My other make up features Mineral Primer and Loose Mineral Foundation in Ivory and Mineral Lengthening Mascara in Blackout  from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics. My eyeliner is Cargo Boogie Nights in Blue.

Which Topshop make up products do you rate? Do you think this Blusher suits me?
