So, you will have seen this cutesy collection on my blog before, because, how can I resist something of this level of cuteness?! Well, I’m pleased to say that I’ve finally had the opportunity to try out some of the new range. This is my little review, I hope you will enjoy it and as always if you have any questions, please comment or tweet me @JayneJRead.
First off, how cute is the packaging? All cute themed with a gorgeous vintage twist. From left to right I have: Nail Polish, Lipstick and Blusher Stick. For this post I’m just going to review the lipstick and blusher stick, as the nail polish warrants a review of its own.
So on the left we have the Paul & Joe, limited edition anniversary lipstick, which features cute imprints of paw prints, 10 paw prints to be exact, a nod to the 10 years that Paul & Joe have been established. On the right, we have the very unusual blusher stick, I struggled to capture it, but as you’d hopefully seen before, the top of this stick is shaped like a cat with a top hat & bow tie. Random I know, but it so works for this unusual brand.
On the left are the swatches of the Paul & Joe Blusher stick in colour 001 Glamour Puss and Lipstick in colour 075 Sex Kitten. Sadly, the blusher stick does not photograph well, but I would describe it as a pearly, cream shade with lots of shimmer.
The blusher sticks are designed to be drawn on with the ears of the cat, making whisker lines on your face and blended in, however, sadly, when I tried this I was too rough and snapped one of the ears, so I now use the back of the stick or a concealer brush to apply. It’s a very subtle colour, which does reflect light for a shimmery finish, however I am more bothered about the packaging than the product with this one. Maybe it’s because I’m so pale, that it doesn’t do this shade justice?
The lipstick is 100% gorgeous, a sheer browny pink, almost a caramel shade. Slicks on very smoothly or can be applied with a brush. The formula is very creamy and long lasting, but with lots of moisture. A great everyday shade, which I’m sure I will get lots of use out of.
Check back soon, to see a review of the Paul & Joe nail polish, it’s quite something!
