Right, this is a product that has really surprised me. I really am not a lipgloss person and I love lipstick but don’t often wear it as I find it high maintenance and often drying on your lips. So, when I received this from my favourite shop, CutECOsmetics I was sceptical. But, as a good blogger I gave it a try.
I love the Love & Toast brand, the graphics are lovely. It’s a standard plastic, lipgloss style tube, with a angled applicator with a small hole in it. Simple and what you would expect from a product like this. I really liked the look of the colour on first looks, a yummy raspberry red.
My first surprise came from the scent of this product, it’s a strong fruity scent, which I can’t quite place, it’s like a black cherry fragrance with a bit of spice. The next surprise was the consistency, it comes out really thick and very strongly coloured, so doesn’t look at all like lipgloss. Hooray!
The colour also turned out to be much brighter than I expected. Like I mentioned, the consistency is far thicker than a lipgloss, making the Lip Glaze title very accurate, it makes me think of thick jam. Yummy. I was even more surprised when I tried it, it is not at all sticky and adds a lovely gloss and tint to the lips. I also find it really moisturising on the lips, it feels nice to wear all day.
The colour is great too,a sheer berry red and subtle enough for the day, it also looks great layered over other colours too, I tried it over Sleek Pout Paint in Pin Up and it looks amazing. The thick consistency does make it tricky to apply evenly straight from the tube, so I would recommend using a brush to apply. You don’t need much either which means it will go a long way. I would certainly recommend this product, plus added bonus, they are vegan, organic and cruelty free.
What do you think? Have you tried any Love & Toast products?
