Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo & Conditioner

I’ve continued to grow my love for Kiehl’s whilst using their iconic Amino Acid Shampoo & Conditioner. This hair care line is Kiehl’s simplest shampoo & conditioner combo, which would be suitable for all hair types and super gentle. As with the rest of the Kiehl’s range, the packaging isn’t very inspiring and part of the reason why I’ve never been drawn to it before. Now I’ve gotten past the dull exterior, I’m pleased that I have give the range a good try.

The main aim of this shampoo is to add moisture and shine to all hair types. It uses a Amino Acid to cleanse and moisturise the hair. It also contains Coconut Oil as we know is amazing as conditioning hair and Hydrolysed Wheat Protein (Phyto Peptide) helps the hair to retain moisture and add shine.

This Kiehl’s shampoo doesn’t contain any SLS, which is amazing really because it foams really well, it’s a creamy, rich foam and you don’t need a lot of product to make it work. There is also no silicone in this, but it still makes my hair super shiny. It smells lovely, fragranced by the coconut oil. It’s a very simple shampoo and conditioner, but I’m really impressed with it, a great basic which delivers what it promises. As always, my only complaint about Kiehl’s is that I find their packaging a bit uninspiring, but as I’ve discovered, the products are fantastic.

Have you tried Kiehl’s hair care? What’s your staple shampoo at the moment?

  1. I’ve never tried their hair products and in face was a Kiehl’s virgin until recently, when I bought (and fell in love with) their Ultra Facial Cleanser.

I’m considering making more hair/environmentally-friendly purchases and this sounds like a great product to add to my ‘try’ list.

    1. Certainly worth a try! The staff are lovely and happy to offer samples when required. I love the look of their Argan hair range too, but this ones their classic one! I’ll be reviewing some Ogario haircare soon which I’m enjoying if you want to try a smaller brand. Or pick up some Naked in Boots, for something more affordable.

  2. Goes to show how important packaging is. It is a bit bland to be honest. I’ve never tried Kiehls hair care, they’ve never grabbed me a brand that caters for afro hair. However, do like some of their body range.
