Lulu & Boo is a range of organic, cruelty free, vegan society and soil association approve range of hair and body products created by former make up artist Claire Edmunds. The full range uses recyclable materials for the packaging and does not use any strong chemicals such as SLS, parabens or petroleum. Each product is handmade and created in small batches to assure the freshest products and the highest quality.
When I received the Lulu & Boo Shea Butter and Jojoba Deep Hair Treatment, I was very surprised to see how small the pot was, a lot smaller than I thought it would be, retailing at £10.95 I was expecting it to be about the same size as a Lush hair treatment. The packaging is a frosted glass jar with a metal lid, very rustic and simple.
I love the branding on the label, it’s really simple also, but very classic and pretty. I have quite long hair and lots of it, so I didn’t think that this would be anywhere near enough to treat my hair, especially when I opened it up and saw that it looked like a very thick butter.
However, on closer inspection the treatment is a thick, creamy whipped butter that is very lightweight. I used the tiniest amount to coat my hair, you add a dab to your palm and warm it with your hands and distribute through the hair. As with everything hair related of late, I used my Tangle Teezer to help spread the product evenly. As directed, I then placed cling film over my hair to help trap in heat and let it ‘develop’. I let it on my hair for about two hours.
Once on the hair it feels more like an oil than a butter, it’s very lightweight.
The Lulu & Boo hair mask has a herbal scent made up of Lavender, Rosemary, Coconut Oil and Olive Oil. It’s nothing offensive and contains lots of essential oils that are great for hair.
After washing out, my hair was shiny, I think you would see stronger results over regular use. I’m going to start using it once a week and will report back with the results.
