This week I’ve been experimented with heated styling for the first time in ages. I’m lazy when it comes to hair, I like spending lots of time on my make up, so on most normal days I don’t have time to do my hair as well. I’ve been using the brand new T-H-X Mix it Up Styler, which launches exclusively at Tesco and online tomorrow.
So this is the necessarily giant box which you’ll easily be able to spot in the aisle of Tesco in Bumble Bee colours. The Mix it Up Styler is essentially a slim straightening iron, the same size and similar format to the basic GHD slim straighteners.
Inside the huge box you’ll find your styler, with a heat proof, bright yellow leatherette pouch to store your straighteners in. One of the nice features of the cable is that it includes a velcro cable tie which is a really easy way to pack up and put away. The whole set takes up very little space.
Everything in the T-H-X range uses the latest technology to allow them to heat up quickly and make use of ionic and tourmaline to reduce static and calm frizzy hair. Each device features a automatic switch off for safety. The Mix it Up Styler features ceramic coated plates and a variable heat control.
Retailing at £44.94 these are certainly a cheaper option to GHDs, they look the same and in my limited experience of using straighteners they perform the same too. My only bug bear of this item is the huge, ridiculous and over the top packaging, but for your normal consumer, that’s not going to be an issue. I just don’t like waste.
Other items in the range include a Hot Air Styler (similar to the Babyliss Big Hair), three types of curling iron and three types of blowdriers as well as traditional straighteners too. Everything retails between £24-£60. Certainly a great range for gift shopping or a budget hair styling buy.
