Here’s a new thing for my blog, another attempt to mix up the content. Please let me know what you think. Thought I’d do a quick and simple round up of the best bits of beauty, fashion and lifestyle news that I’ve spotted in November. Hope you’ll find this interesting and learn about some new stuff that you didn’t already know about.
Illamasqua Rubber Brights Nail Polish Launch in UK
Die hard Illamasqua fans will have already seen these when they launched in Sephora earlier in the year. Good news is that we’re finally getting theses pretties in the UK. The full range of rubber finish nail polishes launches in December at all Illamasqua retailers and online for £13.50. I’ve had one of these in dark purple from a previous collection and I love it. They are pretty versatile too as they go on almost matte and then you can apply a top coat if you want a gloss colour.
Dita Von Teese Launches Von Follies Lingerie Collection
I’ve admired Dita Von Teese for a very long time, she was the one who first introduced me to burlesque, pin up and vintage style. She’s my ultimate style icon, if I could look like her everyday and/or have her job I would be a very happy lady. Some of you may remember the the Dita Von Teese collaboration with Wonderbra? Well, this is even better! This time Dita has gone solo to bring Von Follies, her own range, it’s available now from Debenhams and ASOS among other places. Prices start from £16 and the range goes up to E cup and briefs up to a size 20. Amazing.
L’Oreal Buys Urban Decay for $300m
Big news in the beauty world! Beauty brand giants, L’Oreal buy quirky Urban Decay for a rumoured $300m joining L’Oreal’s growing portfolio of brands which now includes Kiehl’s, Shu Uemura, The Body Shop, Lancome and Yves Sant Laurent among others! It’s not really a huge surprise that this has happened after Urban Decay’s China hiccup earlier in the year, this will surely get Urban Decay fans wondering whether the brand will stay true to its roots. What do you think?
ncLA Nail Couture Los Angeles Launches at CutECOsmetics
A new nail wrap and nail polish brand landed in the UK this month at independent online beauty shop, CutECOsmetics, the range is vegan, cruelty free and free of harsh chemicals. It’s something a bit different in it’s block bottles but is the perfect combination of fashion and conscience. I’ve reviewed the nail wraps already and you can see my nail polish review tomorrow. Well worth checking out!
So, there’s my first ever news round up, what did you think of my picks?
