In this gloomy weather we’ve been having, I thought it would be nice to brighten things up with some sparkle this week. There’s no easier way to sparkle than with a nice glitter nail polish. This week I’ve tried out one of the Ciate glitter polishes. This one is strands rather than the usual hexagonal particles that you find in most glitter polishes, I’m sure I had one like this as a kid. Anyone else find this kind of glitter polish a blast from the past?
The Ciate glitter nail polish in shade Jewel 083 is a blend of silver, pale pink, blue and purple shimmery strands in a clear glossy base. This swatch is just one coat and gives a really good coverage. Great performance for a glitter polish for sure. I’ve put this over the top of a Bourjois polish in shade Purple Fiction, which I’ll be reviewing on it’s own soon.
I can’t fault the performance of this product, but personally I don’t think I’m a fan. This is a really gross thing to say, but the strands makes me think of sparkly dog hair or shaving hair, not cool. I’m sure there’s lots of people out there who would like this effect though, so if you do want to pick it up, you can find Ciate in Selfridges and online at BeautyBay.
What do you think of this glitter?
What’s your favourite glitter nail polish?
