I don’t wear lipstick everyday, but when I do it’s often in red. Every girl should own a red lipstick, it’s classic and there’s a shade for everyone whether you believe that or not. I love the vintage vibe of red lipstick, so that’s why I’m drawn to it. My latest red lipstick acquisition is from Make Up Store, a Scandinavian based brand that you can find across the globe, in London it’s on Carnaby Street.
I love the packaging on this, it’s simple black (not a surprise!) but the casing is lovely matte black metal with gloss black text on it. The tube seems slightly slimer than a conventional lipstick too, so a streamlined lippie! All of the Make Up Store Lipsticks come boxed too. I really like the shape of this bullet, the pointed tear drop shape makes it easy to apply precisely if you haven’t got a brush to hand.
Here’s the lipstick on a whole make up look that I wore this week. As you can see it’s a cream texture, so not too matte, which means that it maintains comfort to wear. Although, I do love super matte lipstick, they can be drying so this is a great compromise. It’s a warm, berry red which is super wearble even during the day. I’m amazed that it’s not even close to any of the other red shades I have either.
Make Up Store Lipsticks are £12.50, which is pretty decent, personally there are other brands I would prefer to spend on, but wouldn’t complain about the price.
The rest of my make up look is made up of Bourjois 8in1 BB Cream Compact Foundation in Vanilla, Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Allure, Pur Minerals Mascara, Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil, Inglot eyeshadow in cream and white and blue eyeshadow from a unknown Sleek MakeUP palette applied wet with a Japonesque brush.
What’s your favourite shade of red lipstick?
