Tilda Swinton Inspired Make Up Look with Illamasqua and Lime Crime

Tilda Swinton David Bowie Tippi Hendren Inspired Make Up Look with Illamasqua Laid and Lime Crime Uniliner in Blue Milk

I adore Tilda Swinton, she’s amazing and I also adore David Bowie, so when I saw that she was appearing in Bowie’s latest music video, I was a very, very happy bunny. I love how they styled Tilda to look utterly feminine in this particular scene, with a very Tippi Hendren (The Birds) 50s/60s vibe and I love her make up.

david-bowie-and-tilda-swinton_GBWhen I found out that the blue eyeliner that Tilda wears in this scene is actually Lime Crime’s Blue Milk Uniliner, I couldn’t resist recreating the look on myself. I’ve had the Lime Crime Blue Milk liner for ages and always struggled to think how to wear it, but now I’ve seen this image and the trend of blue eyeliner turning up on the runways, I’m keen to give it a go again.

So that’s the completed look. What do you think? I wore Bourjois BB Cream Compact in Shade Vanilla and Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Laid on both my cheeks and lips, I love matching cheeks and lips and this product works so well for it. I’ll give it a full review very, very soon as it’s a lovely product.

I started the liner look by doing traditional eyeliner flicks with a Diego Dalla Palma black pencil. I think if I do this again it would work better with a gel or liquid liner for a  bolder contract and more control, but for this practise it did work. I then went just above the black line with the Lime Crime Uniliner in Blue Milk, tidying up any messes with the black pencil over the top where required.

Finished with a slick of Pur Minerals Big Blink Mineral Mascara (review also coming soon). Surprisingly simple to create and also surprisingly wearable. I didn’t feel outrageous in this look and got so many compliments on the look, so it must have been a good one to give a go! I’ve seen more people trying out blue liner on the lower lash line, which will be my next trend to give a whirl, what do you think?

Sorry I haven’t included a photo of all the products together, but I’m not being very organised at the moment, so totally forgot! If you want to read a review of the Lime Crime Uniliner in Blue Milk, click the link! I promise I’ll get back to my blogging in a whole hearted way by the end of the week, things have been a bit out of the ordinary for me of late.

Would you wear this look?

What do you think of the blue eyeliner trend?
