Afternoon Tea at Charlotte Street Hotel with Antipodes

So, to continue telling you about last week’s awesome Saturday! After me and Gemma (@FlutterSparkle) had finished at the craft fair in Shoreditch, we headed Central for Afternoon Tea with beauty brand, Antipodes at the Charlotte Street Hotel, just off Oxford Street. Joined by a bunch of awesome beauty bloggers to find out more about the brand and to stuff our faces with cake, joy!

Antipodes is described as a Scientific Organic brand, meaning that they focus on performance lead products as well as making use of beauty natural and organic ingredients. The brand originates from New Zealand and can now be found in UK stockists such as Whole Foods, John Lewis and Selfridges.

I”ll review this in more detail when I’ve had chance to play with it. But on first try and it’s appearance I think it’s going to be a winner.

Now for the gluttonous part, the Afternoon Tea….

Each person gets three different sandwiches and a mini cheese tart, I only tried the Pulled Pork and Apple bun though as I wanted to save space for the cakes, obviously! You also get a selection of scones with jam and cream, two types of cakes, a macaron and a little chocolate mousse dessert.

This little cake was my favourite, it was layers of sponge sandwiches between chocolate and raspberry spreads, very cute and very delicious without being too stodgy or heavy. Also loved the little custard tarts with blackberries on, simple and classic. The chocolate mousse however, was amazing but was just so rich.

2013-11-09 15.33.43Got to hang out with some awesome girls too, check out some of my snaps on Instagram. To fully complete the event though, on the way home we spotted one of my all time favourite actors, who I then decided to chase down the street so that I could make this happen…then I might have cried a little bit….

So overall, another awesome part to another awesome day. The events that happened after this won’t be blogged, it consisted of my first night out in Shoreditch (where I live now) and my first accidental house party. Good stuff.
