Earlham Street Clubhouse, Covent Garden, London

Fancy somewhere different in Central London? You’ve got to check out the new 90s themed venue in Covent Garden, Earlham Street Clubhouse. They just serve cocktails and pizza, it’s as if it was made for me!

The pizza’s are served by the slice, 12 inch or 20 inch pizzas and the best thing is that everyone on the menu has a totally awesome 90s themed name. As do the cocktails. I started with the Prom Queen, a vodka based cocktail with raspberry, strawberry and cream, it’s quite like drinking a boozy milkshake, lush!

Pizza wise we went for the Happy Gilmore with parma ham, rocket and two types of cheese. The pizzas have an authentic Italian vibe, thin crisp bases and super fresh toppings, plus if you sit in the right spot of the clubhouse you can watch them being made. If you’re sharing, you get a paper plate with a napkin, like you’re at a kids party, I love it!

Next up, I tried the Sweet Valley High cocktail, another fruit based drink of vodka, lime and pomegranate, fresh and fruity. I love the Prom Queen one the most, but this is also lovely.

Since we were such entertaining guests, we were ‘rewarded’ with one of the signature drinks on the menu, The Layback. Absinthe, chilli, lime and sugar and advertised on the menu as ‘not to be consumed by the purchase’. It’s a bit bigger than a regular shot and served in a bottle with metal pourer making it even more interesting.

This was the result of drinking The Layback. At first it tasted as you would expect, but has a after burn for sure, not one for those afraid of heat!

As an added bonus, they have the Secret DJ app in the Clubhouse, which allows visitors to check in and select songs to add to the venue playlist, such a great idea! I love the decor in the place too, lots of American vintage bits and bobs and photos of 90s stars, very fun, clean and chilled. This was my second visit and the staff were excellent again, I’d recommend this place for food and drinks, ideal for all kinds of nights out, check it out!
