As a pale girl, the words tan and bronzer are simply not in my beauty vocabulary. I like being pale and in fact would rather be sold a product that will give me a Dita Von Teese paper white glow over a ‘healthy glow’ any day! However, when I was sent the information on the new Bobbi Brown Uber Pink collection and their Illuminating Bronzing Powders, which are clearly not at all bronze, I thought I’d give them a go.
I love Bobbi Brown, it’s a great brand for quality essentials and their foundation and concealers are some of my favourites. For my taste though, I often find many of their colour cosmetics too safe for me. The new Uber Pink collection is catching my eye though as they venture into brights.
The Illuminating Bronzing Powder, comes in two shades: Pink Peony and Antigua. This one is Antigua and believe it or not is actually the darkest of the two. In my book, this is definitely not a bronzer, yes it has the tiniest touch of bronze in the pigment but to me it’s definitely just a big blusher. As you can see it’s pink, the Pink Peony shade is more of a candy tone and has less metallic in it, but still it’s pink, not at all bronze.
I adore the imprinted words of Be Pretty, it’s such a cool touch to an otherwise classic product and adds a great fun twist to the product. The Pink Peony variety says Be Bold. This product was difficult to capture as a swatch as it really is a pretty, subtle effect, perfect if you want a natural glow. The shimmer in the powder adds the illuminating element and it stays really well. I’ve been opting for this when I want to make the rest of the make up dramatic, so as not to over do a look. It’s limited edition, so if you love it, grab it soon!
What do you think of Bobbi Brown?
Would you class this as a bronzer?
