Since I became less fussy with my food last year, it turns out I quite like spicy food and have a higher tolerance to spice than I thought I would. On recent wanderings of Westfield Stratford, we decided to visit Busaba Eathai, this chain was the first time I tried thai food and I loved it, so wanted to go again.
The decor is very plain and simple, they have candles and incense burning too which gives the place a nice atmosphere. I love the menu design too, although you’ve got to admit that the logo is completely impossible to make out as the name of this place.
They have a lovely drinks menu including Asian beers, spirits, cocktails and some lush coconut water blends. I had the coconut water with raspberry which contains crushed berries and is just super refreshing and the perfect alternative to a regular cocktail. Super warming, delicious and moreish. For under £15 you get a great sized portion of quality food.
The Red Beef Curry comes without rice, so I went for side of coconut rice. There’s plenty to eat in this dish, it used to contain lychees which made it even more awesome, but now it’s just super tender strips of beef and a few veg and lots of sauce. It’s a spicy curry but a pleasant amount of heat.
The portion sizes at Busaba would also work well for sharing, if you had a bigger appetite it would work well to choose a range of small dishes to mix and match for your meal. I recommend the Chicken Satay too.
Where’s your favourite place for Thai food?
Have you been to Busaba Eathai?
