Thought I ought to hurry up and write something else to be on the homepage, as everytime I was logging in and seeing the Honest Burgers review it was just making me ridiculously hungry and desperate for yet another burger. So, here’s my go to lipstick at the moment from Kiko Cosmetics’ Boulevard Rock collection, which is out now. They come boxed, in denim textured matte boxes with this rather snazzy tie dye, ombre effect going on, which adds a bit of luxe to a otherwise cheap product.
As I rambled about in my previous review of this collection, the range is inspired by British alternative music, which is a super random link, but nonetheless they’ve made some gorgeous products again. Today, I’m reviewing their Rock Idol Lipstick in Illusion Strawberry (aka red) and Rebel Coral (aka orange). The lipsticks are in a slimmer form of the Clinique Chubby Sticks, which appear to have become a standard style of lip crayon now. I much prefer the slimmer shape of these pencils, they make it a lot easier to be precise with application, which is so important when applying such bold colours.
Unlike the Clinique Chubby Sticks, the Kiko Rock Idol Lipsticks are in fact a matte colour, which I just adore. They have plenty of pigment in them, but without being super in your face, I’d describe them as toned down vintage shades, which are perfect for everyday wear. The matte formulas mean that they last really well, with a comfortable, creamy formula that glides on easily and precisely. At £7.90 they are also a complete bargain and there’s a really great line up of shades in the collection too. Really impressed with these little guys, would definitely buy other shades for myself.
Swatched here is the red, Illusion Strawberry and orange, Rebel Coral. Both are very easy to wear shades and would suit a wide range of skin tones and styles for day and night time wear.
