So the weather has been yucky right? Well thanks to my trusty flash gun, some white space and my awesome boyfriend, that’s not going to stop us from doing some more outfit photos, so here’s a rather over the top themed outfit that I wore on Saturday for adventures around Spitalfields Market and then later dressed up a touch for my friend Sinead’s birthday party in Central London.
I’ve been a Black Milk Clothing stalker fan for years, they just make things out of amazing top quality lycra and do lots of collaborations with lots of geeky things, for example, they have Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Adventure Time printed goods at the moment. These mermaid leggings have been at the top of my fashion wish list for years and I finally got them!
I used to be so anti-leggings but since my discovery of my love of American Apparel Disco Pants I’ve become a bit more open minded about it. The Black Milk leggings are very high quality and a very good thickness, which means you don’t get any nasty lumpy bits or underwear showing through. Totally in love with them and so tempted to buy so much more now.
I also used to be super anti-Primark too, but when times are tough and you don’t have much money to spend on clothes, I’ve discovered that it’s quite a nice place to pop to if you just need a quick wardrobe boost. They have some awesome branded stuff at the moment too, including a selection of Disney items.
I absolutely LOVE this Little Mermaid t-shirt which was under £10, it’s a easy loose fit with rolled up sleeves and super vibrant print on the front. I couldn’t resist teaming it with mermaid scale leggings.
More geekdom in the form of my Sailor Moon necklace from the awesome independent designer and maker, Nerd Craft which I picked up on my first visit to Hyper Japan a few years back.
Hair flowers are another nod to Ariel from The Little Mermaid and were from Acessorize from quite a few years ago, but you can pick up similar one almost anywhere that does hair accessories now. If only I still had red hair for this shoot, it’ll be red again soon as I’m doing a Little Mermaid inspired shoot soon.
Make up is Holika Holika BB Cream, Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Hussy, brows using Crown Brushes 88 Palette, Sugarpill Chromalust in Lumi for highlighting the eyes and Too Faced Joy to the Girls palette for some subtle definition to the socket, finished with bareMinerals Lash Domination mascara. Lips are of course, my favourite red, Lime Crime Velvetines in Red Velvet and everything is prepped with Paul & Joe Smoothing Primer and finished with Jurlique Rose Finishing Powder.
Have you got anything from Black Milk Clothing?
What’s the geekiest fashion item that you own?
