So I’ve been meaning to do some more modelling for ages. When I lived in Leeds I often modelled for local photographers and brands for a bit of fun and was signed to a small agency and got a bit of work from it too. I love being on shoots, it’s fun and I love the excuse to play dress up. I found photographer, Eleanor Jay via networking site, Model Mayhem and we did a spontaneous photoshoot in my local area last week. Here’s the first look from the day.
I’m wearing a red rose flower crown by By Frankii, a range of hair accessories made by the fabulous burlesque and pin up lady, Frankii Wilde. She uses foam roses which are much more durable than some of the fabric ones and tend to stay where you put them more. I love it.
My wooden Watermelon necklace was one of my purchases from the last Renegade Craft fair and is from the awesome Lucie Ellen, who makes all kinds of colourful and clever creations out of wood and paper. I’m also wearing a strawberry shaped ring from Kactus Kawaii.
The dress is from vintage inspired brand, Collectif Clothing and is from their collection last year, I love the nautical sailor theme and the sensible length of the skirt, which is great for someone as tall as me. I really want to get a petticoat to wear underneath it for a full on vintage look. I decided to team it with old, burgundy Converse for a different take on the look, which is totally how I would choose to wear something like this. The belt is a cheap one from Forever 21 and has little star shapes cut out of it.
For this shoot, we explored areas around Redchurch Street and Shoreditch High Street, just minutes from my house. It was loads of fun to get back in front of a camera and work with such a talented young photographer. It’s definitely making me want to do more shoots soon!
For this shot, I swapped things around a bit and changed to my giant bow from Accessorize and blue hoodie from New Look, which I’ve been wearing loads and cost me only £10 in the sale. Make up wise, I’m wearing Balance Me BB Cream, Illamasqua Powder Blush in Hussy, orange eyeshadow from the Crown Brush 88 Palette for my brows and Sugarpill Velocity eyeshadow from the Heart Breaker Palette, mixed with Kiko Mixing Solution for my eyeliner flicks. Red lipstick is of course, Lime Crime Velvetines in Red Velvet.
What do you think of my outfit?
Do you have anything from Collectif?
