Models Own Sticky Fingers Comic Book Nail Art Review

I’ve been mega slow at blogging this last few weeks, so I’m sure you’ve all already seen these new beauties from Models Own and maybe even got your mitts on them yourself. Anyway, when they turned up I definitely squeed, these looked like the cutest things that Models Own have ever released.

Here’s three of them in the collection, I’m not personally a massive fan of the bows and flowers, mainly because the nail polish colour they came with are a bit weird. However, I love the red with the comic book stickers loads, so that’s the one I decided to try out for myself.

This set has some awesome comic book style flashes, perfect for a pop art vibe, super cute! I chose to wear the stickers with the included red nail polish and then used Nails Inc Baker Street for the blue accent nail. The stickers are very easy to remove from the backing and you get loads so that you can get a few rounds out of them.

Unfortunately, I found it quite difficult to get them to apply smoothly, they had bubbles and creases in them which were quite tricky to get rid of. Also, meant that you get a few rough edges that can catch and tear when doing day to day things. I applied a clear top coat in the hopes that this would seal the stickers and make them last longer, but this didn’t stop them peeling and tearing very easily. I don’t know if this is normal, of if it’s because I applied over not completely dry nail colour. I’ll have to give them another go.

I think from my experience these are great for a special occasion, but don’t last long enough for a long wearing manicure, which is my preference. For best results I’d recommend ensuring the base colour is completely dry before applying, maybe even the day after application before popping the stickers on. Top coat does improve things, but I don’t think it’s entirely necessary.

  1. I applied these over dry nails and they didn’t last long. I thought they’d be better on tacky nails but obviously not! I was quite disappointed.
