Shamless self promotion in one respect but also the realisation of a dream too. When I was growing up I used to love doing arts and crafty projects it was the main thing I did when I wasn’t at school, it wasn’t until after Uni that I didn’t have the time or the energy to do anything and it all fizzled out. My only source of creativity until recently was blogging and writing. When we moved to Brighton and made the big changes to life it freed up time to be able to start being creative again.
I’ve been dabbling in various arts and crafts, mainly various jewellery making things as I’ve always wanted to have my own brand or shop. A couple of months ago I had a very industrious day photographing and listing stuff on Etsy. Both stuff that I’d made myself and some awesome stuff that my Mum made to my brief, she’s more talented than me so it only made sense to get her involved.
I’ve got some other new bits to list soon, but right now I’d love for you guys to check out what I’ve been working on so far and let me know what you think. It’s entirely a work in progress still, so anything you have to share would definitely help out. The main thing I’ve learnt so far is that it takes LOADS more time than you think, even more time than it takes to maintain a blog!
Here’s some of my favourite pieces that I’ve listed so far…
This one was made by my Mum, it features glass beads and gorgeous chunky heart beads, reminds me of Alice in Wonderland or Snow White. It was entirely hand beaded by my Mum and there’s only a couple in existence.
Admittedly not the most original idea, but I wanted one for myself so I’ve mounted these little cakes onto ceramic plates for these kawaii rings.
Mermaid inspired of course, Mum sourced these gorgeous glass shell beads to create this pretty necklace.
What do you think? Do you have any suggestions for new stuff?
