I have some major love for purple lipstick and eyeliner flicks and I think I always will. Here’s a blog post that shows you what happens when the lighting is weird for product photos and what happens when I mix lippy shades and attempt to contour my face.
I’ve been testing out some new techniques when it comes to applying eyeliner flicks and I’ll be blogging the method as soon as I’ve nailed here, but I think this look was pretty darn close to perfect.
Illamasqua Lipstick in ESP
One of my favourite shades when it comes to purple lipstick, it’s a rich purple with a teeny tiny pearly texture, it’s smooth to apply but doesn’t last too great, so I thought I’d test mixing it with another shade to improve the texture and lasting power.
Illamasqua Lipstick in Posture
This is such a weird shade and generally quite difficult to wear on it’s own. It’s a pale purple mauve shade with a matte finish and a lovely creamy texture. I’ve yet to wear it on its own but mixed with ESP it worked really well as a lip base.
Illamasqua Blusher Duo in Glint and Burnish
For some reason I totally forgot to photograph this product, but this is the first time I’ve used this product. I usually shy away from anything brown on my face, but these shades work really well with a fair complexion for a subtle sunkissed look. I used the darker shade for contouring and the paler one for highlighting.
Kiko Cosmetics Lasting Finish Gel Liner
This liner is amazing, I don’t know why I didn’t get hooked on it the first time, but now I’ve found a nice slim brush this is great. It’s a very wet formula so you do have to be careful but it’s really smooth to work with and creates a mega black, long lasting line.
Really love the results of the lipstick mixing and it did make the purple last longer, the brown contouring didn’t go too badly either, so will have to try this again. LOVE the eyeliner, might just be my best attempt yet!
