Oh look! Another pop art make up look by another blogger. Oh well, I was bored I wanted to give it a go as I thought it’d be fun. Here’s another really simple look that would be awesome for any last minute Halloween costumes you guys might have, you’ve probs got all the makings of it already in your make up kit and wardrobe. Easy peasy.
So, the base of this is easy, just use your normal foundations and fix with a powder. You then want a red matte product, I used Jeffree Star Velour Lipstick in Red Rum and do the dots, luckily anything with a doe foot applicator will make a perfect dotting tool, but you can use a brush if you prefer. Choose a pattern you want to do the dots in and stick with it, I did them diagonally across the face.
Then you want to choose your lip colour, I went for purple so that it would contrast with the red and I used Pretty Zombie Purple Poison. Next up add the tears, I used Pretty Zombie Blue Moon which is just a perfect colour. If you’re using lip products on your face you may want to do a patch test first as some of the more delicate skin types may be irritated by the strong pigments. These liquid lipsticks were perfect to use as the matte finish works so well and the consistency is easy to work with.
To finish the look you need a really smooth, pigmented black. I used Kiko Cosmetics Lasting Finish gel liner and a very fine brush. Draw on eyebrows and outline lips and tears. My lips went a bit wrong, I should have kept the line finer. Add in a few expression lines to suit your look, but don’t go overboard, this look really is simpler than you think.
BEWARE! This was such a pain to take off, you will need much more than wet wipes and it will make a mess. I used coconut oil, hot water and a flannel and it didn’t even cut it in one go, a shower may be needed an a triple cleanse!! To finish the outfit you can pretty much wear whatever you like, but for full effect I’d go for a block colour outfit ideally in primary colours or to match your make up. This was SO fun to create and looks awesome!
