Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and Ultracalming Cleanser

Can you believe I’ve been blogging since 2006 and never laid a hand on anything from Dermalogica until now?! I think it’s because I used to work for one of their competitors and when I work for a brand I develop this weird loyalty towards the brand so that (even to this day) it kinda deterred me from checking them out properly. Weird I know. Anyway, I’ve been test driving some of their best sellers over the past few weeks.

As I didn’t know where to start I was sent two of their best sellers: Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser, both of which are available from Look Fantastic with some free samples too. The cleanser is pretty self explanatory, it’s a gel based cleanser which gently foams, it contains lavender, echinacea and raspberry extracts for their anti-inflammatory benefits so ideal for anyone with sensitive or redness in their skin.

It’s really easy to use with it’s gentle lather and easy to rinse off texture, it works hard enough to remove make up with or you can use it as a second cleanse which is what I’ve mainly been doing post-coconut oil make up removal. It’s so gentle that it’s suitable for hypersensitive skin types too. Although it’s nothing glamorous this cleanser is really enjoyable to use and does leave skin clean and soft, so I would recommend it.

The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is a little less obvious, but is essentially a exfoliating product, very similar to Indeed Labs Exfoliator which is a great dupe for this Dermalogica product and at almost half the price. Anyway, it’s a white powder, which you apply to wet hands and rub together to create a gritty paste which can be used for a gentle and effective exfoliation, suitable to use daily should you wish. The Dermalogica one has some extra ingredients in it such as spergillus, grapefruit and liquorice that help to balance uneven skin pigmentation as well as a blend of green tea, ginkgo and colloidal oatmeal that helps calm skin. It’s another wonderful product to use, which isn’t very exciting looking but does what it needs to do.

I enjoyed using both and they both delivered impressive results over a short space of time, I’d definitely be inclined to try more from the range. You can find Dermalogica at Look Fantastic and until 24th Nov you can get 10% off the range with code DERM10LF or if you’re a new customer save 15% off with code NEW15LFEnjoy!
