If you’ve got sensitive skin, allergic to regular nail polish or just want a convenient, kind to skin (and nature) alternative to chemical ridden nail polishes Little Ondine is definitely a brand that you need to check out. I’ve featured them a few times now and basically they use natural resins and colours in a water base for a quick drying, odourless and peel off nail polish formula. For Christmas they have this stunning Winter Wonderland gift set which is limited edition and simply gorgeous!
It does come in a very lovely, transparent box with pretty festive illustrations on it but it was such a pain to photograph I just gave up, but if you visit their website (plus get 10% off with my code AJR10) you can see it in all its glory, it really is lovely. Confusingly, mine has a plain red rather than a white, green and red glitter option, but that doesn’t bother me, I’ll have to check what happened there.
Anyway, the colours I got included a cream vintage glossy red, gorgeous red glitter (Poinsetta) and a clear gloss with snowflake inspired holographic flakes (Snowflakes) in it. Instead of the red the set should have Misteltoe a green, red and white glitter. As I’ve mentioned before with this brand you do have to red the instructions properly as the application is key to making it last, it’s not like normal nail polish. All of them had excellent coverage in just one coat and even better with two, dry quicker than normal polishes and don’t smell at all.
This time I used their base coat, Secret as both a base and top coat and this has significantly improved the lasting power and leaves a gorgeous glossy, gel style finish. Without this you’re looking at just a few days wear and a bit less if you get your nails too wet or are working with your hands a lot. However, the quick applications, removal and odourless natural formulas make up for it. If you really want lasting power a normal top coat will seal in the colours like a normal polish. The top picture shows my mani without the top coat, the second with.
The Christmas set is £25 and limited edition and you can get 10% off anything on their site with my code AJR10, check out their site here.
