Running a little behind on this project, but oh well! There’s bigger things in the world to be worrying about right now. Anyway, time for a double whammy of day 9 & 10 on the same day you lucky people, I hope I can brighten your day even just a little bit with some creative, indie biz loveliness. Today is my 7th Blog Birthday too, WTF?
Anyway, I met the lovely lady behind Silly Old Sea Dog at London Edge last year via the magnificent Perelandra and instantly fell in love with the brand. Everything is made in the UK and they cater to sizes 6-24 including custom designs. They have a gorgeous range of practical, vintage inspired silhouettes in a variety of kitsch, colourful, cute and playful prints. It’s pretty much my ideal dress brand.
Alison started her brand in 2012 as a project on her college degree and it’s since flourished into a marvellous brand that she should be extremely proud of. With new stuff being added all the time and mini collections of festive styles popping up, there’s always something new to add to your wishlist.
The range includes dresses, skirts, petticoats and a handful of accessories (some of which are made by Alison’s Mum!) with prices around £95 for a dress, it’s not in everyone’s budget but considering the attention to detail and quality of the range, it’s completely justifiable! You’re paying the wage of someone who is hands on with their brand and producing stunning products in the UK, which is naturally a very ethical way to work. So yup, when I have some spare money, I’m definitely treating myself.
