So last week I had my hair dyed in the salon and unfortunately the colour only lasted one wash, not entirely sure why but I believe it’s something to do with a bleach based product being used and not neutralising properly before a colour was put on, apparently as I have natural red tones in my hair, my hair is more likely to do weird things like this. Anyway, it just meant that I had to dye my own hair sooner than planned and boy am I glad I did!
If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I’ve become very DIY with my hair colouring and cutting, generally because I really struggle to find salons and hairdressers that I click with. Yesterday, I went to try out a new Brighton based salon and get a new cut and colour from Creative Director, George, who has actually been recommended to me a gazillion times from when he was based elsewhere, so yea, it was fate that we work together!
So, as I mentioned in my previous hair colouring post I’m currently combating fast fading hair, it’s on its way back to being manageable but at the moment I’m topping up the colour more than normal. A few weeks ago, I went red for a short lived period using a mix of Superdrug Ultra Brights Rebellious Red and Colour Freedom Crimson Red, also from Superdrug.
I’ve officially had weird coloured hair for over a year now, I had bright orange and bright red for about a year and then went into the territory of blues, purples and greens. I’m pretty sure my hair is just stained blue now and due to a little bleach mishap I’m going to be sticking to this tone for a while longer. Today, I’m going to tell you a little about my latest hair dye trial and shade.
