I’ve been keeping my eye out for Gudetama merch in the UK ever since I saw the announcement of his creation by Sanrio sometime last year. If you haven’t seen him before he’s from the same peeps who brought us Hello Kitty and is essentially a lazy egg. It’s a bit strange, but I relate to him so therefore he’s a hit with me. As with a lot of Japanese merch it can be difficult to get hold of in Europe or often watered down or copied, so I was very excited to see that UK retailers, Truffle Shuffle had bagged an exclusive range from this strange little fellow.
My internet stalking today has paid off! Look what I stumbled upon, a super cute Hello Kitty OPI collection! There’s very little information online at the moment but you can read a good article and see some great pictures on Beauty Geeks. I’ve done some investigating and managed to dig up these photos too.
Last week we went to MCM ComicCon, I’ll write a bit more about that very soon. One of the things that I was excited to check out though was the new Hello Kitty collab from Insert Coin Clothing which I talked about earlier in the month. The collection made it’s debut at London ComiCon and I picked up one of the pieces.
If you’re a gaming nerd you’ll probably already know about Insert Coin Clothing and their dedication to making tees and other apparel lines featuring niche (and not so niche) references to some of your favourite video games. If you’re not such a nerd you might like this upcoming collection instead! Hello Kitty x Insert Coin Clothing!
Yea, it sounds mental but it’s totally true, it is Japan after all. Sanrio is the brand behind Hello Kitty and a whole world of kawaii (that’s the word Japanese use to describe cute things) characters, so far mostly animal themed. Last year, Sanrio presented 20 possible characters to a public vote to choose new designs to add to the Sanrio world and amazingly, they were all inspired by popular Japanese food. If you don’t know me very well you may not know that I have a bit of a major love for cartoon food with faces on, so this Sanrio revelation is totally up my kawaii street!
Yesterday, I finally made it to Hyper Japan, a regular convention at Earls Court that celebrates everything Japanese culture. We’re talking anime, manga, kawaii, samurai, video games, sushi and more! It’s rather amazing. It took my Mum along as she is quite a fan of Japan too, much more of an expert than me, she […]
I’m gutted that I couldn’t make the Zatchels Hello Kitty collection launch yesterday, this is most definitely the most perfectly me think that I’ve been invited to all year, such a shame that they’re event was in working hours. Anyway, was hoping to post the photos today but I’ve yet to get my mitts on […]
It’s my birthday next month and I’ve started to think about what I would like to receive. One of the things that I’ve thought of is that I would really like a nice, good quality purse. I’ve got one I’ve had for about 4 years and it’s starting to look a bit tatty. I’ve just joined […]
