If you’re a regular reader you know that indie brand Sugar & Vice have a special place in my heart. They’ve been around since 2007 and I’ve followed and adored their work since the first day I stumbled upon them. I can’t even remember how I stumbled upon them. I’ve never met Sarah, but I randomly met Matt in real life by bumping into him in Brighton (where he doesn’t live) to be greeted by “I made that!!” when he saw my necklace, we were in Tiger, it was cool that a stranger said hi and then when it clicked who it was it was one of those small world moments. Anyway, ramble over, the brand is based in Canterbury and is made up of just the two of them who design, cut and assemble everything.

Ok, so the blog has been a bit slow of late. I’ve been pondering a lot of things and trying to figure out my next direction. I’ve written some articles about it, but I haven’t published them anywhere just yet. So, I felt like I could use this space as a way to promote indie brands, shops, creators…etc, just like I used to so often back in the day. Creativity is important to me, being creative is hard work and having a creative business is even trickier.
I kinda feel a bit weird about Black Friday and Cyber Monday being a thing in the UK now which is supposed to be the post-Thanksgiving sales, it is just a big marketing excuse for companies to make more money and genuinely fuels a bit of insanity of people buying pointless stuff that they don’t really need. However, it’s not just the big corporate brands out there that are taking part now, so I wanted to take some time to highlight some of the small, indie and alt brands that are out there that would appreciate your money quite a bit more than those big companies.
Apparently it’s Christmas soon, so that seems like a good enough reason to create a list of some really, really cool stuff you can get on the awesome Etsy. Since Miz is currently engrossed in Fallout 4 on PS4 and I continue to be powering ahead with Borderlands 2 DLC’s, I thought it’d be fun to pick out some of the best Etsy bits and bobs with a gaming theme. Enjoy!

It’s almost no coat weather here in Brighton, but in that annoying way that it looks really sunny and then you go outside and realise that it’s all lies and it’s just as cold as it was last week. That’s why I’m all about layers at the moment! I can’t wait for the warmer weather and being able to sit on the beach again without shivering or getting a numb bum.
So, it’s October and it’s still not cold enough for a coat? What’s that all about? Well, it’s raining today in Brighton but yesterday it was another super sunny day, fresh with a cold air but still no need for boots or a coat. We headed to the local park so that Miz could practise […]
This morning, Miz and I headed to the skate park in Brighton so that Miz could get some practise in after a very long break of not skating. I unintentionally went dressed like a Star Wars themed skater girl, hopefully with a lot more originality that the Avril Lavigne type and with my super colourful, […]
So, here’s the second set of photos that I did with awesome photographer, Eleanor Jay and this time it’s an outfit that I’ve worn on a couple of nights out. We found more colourful walls to shoot against around Shoreditch, which make the most awesome backdrops to outfit photos. I’ll have to go and explore some […]
This week I went to Musical Bingo at Concrete, which is underneath Pizza East just around the corner from me in Shoreditch, I’ll write more about that very soon, but for now, here’s the random outfit that I wore. The main bit of this outfit is the epic, tacky princess cat t-shirt which I got […]
