A long, long time ago in a city far, far away in Central Yorkshire, I lived and worked part time at a lovely vintage inspired apothecary and boutique called Rose & Co. We sold various gorgeous things from brands like Paul & Joe, What Katie Did and our own brand which at the time was largely cooked at home on an old fashioned oven by founder Caroline Rose. My time at Rose & Co taught me about pin-up and burlesque, how to fit corsets and how to do Victory Rolls. I didn’t work there for long but its influence has stayed with me to this day. So, I’m very pleased to be able to share with you a little competition to win a slice of the company for yourself. I’m running this out of sheer, genuine love for this brand and its owners.
The problem with lightening your hair or bleaching it before putting another shade on is that it almost always means that your colour fades pretty quick for the first few dying attempts. It’s because your hair is in a compromised condition, the follicle is open which means that the colour particles don’t always stay put. I find you can solve this by a combination of layers of the same colour tones or lots of conditioning treatments. My hair was feeling a bit drab a few weeks ago, so thought I’d pick up a Superdrug Ultra Brights shade to try at the bargain price of £2.99 a tube.
I’ve officially had weird coloured hair for over a year now, I had bright orange and bright red for about a year and then went into the territory of blues, purples and greens. I’m pretty sure my hair is just stained blue now and due to a little bleach mishap I’m going to be sticking to this tone for a while longer. Today, I’m going to tell you a little about my latest hair dye trial and shade.
I’m feeling off my blog game lately, so thought I’d do something different and take things back to basics with a bit of beauty news instead. There’s so many new products coming out all of the time and thought it would be cool to just share the stories that have really caught my attention this […]
I’m not often fussed about high street make up brands, generally I find them quite dull and uninteresting. I think this is mostly due to the naff ways that they are often merchandised in places like Boots and Superdrug. Testers are often missing, there’s rarely a full range of the collections and there’s no other […]
As you might know already I love to experiment with eyeshadow colours and to mix colours to create a interesting look. I must admit that I used to be such a snob when it comes to make up in general, if something is cheap it usually makes me think that the quality would be cheap […]
So pleased that I’ve been able to try these cuties, after featuring them on my blog earlier in the month and seeing lots of nice reviews around the blogosphere. I was luckily enough to receive these two items in the goody bag at the Superdrug event this week. First off, I tried the MUA Nail Polish in […]
What’s better than sweeties and make up combined? When I spotted this new range from MUA inspired by the nostalgic sweeties that are Love Hearts, I just couldn’t resist them. I’ve yet to try anything from the MUA range (shameful I know!) but I know I’m going to be very tempted by this lovely range. The collection […]
As you may be aware I hate going to the hairdressers and love very long hair, because of this, I’ve been experimenting with ways to keep my long hair in good condition so as to avoid going for a trim and also to improve it’s general condition and appearance. My hair is currently just above […]
