Review: Karuna Brightening Treatment Mask

The lovely team at Sparkling and Still, a new online cosmetics shop with a really unique selection of brands were kind enough to send me a sample of one of their Karuna Treatment Masks. These masks are available in a number of different types, aimed towards different skin concerns, the come in a pack of four for £25, working out as your months supply of pampering, results driven home treatments.

This Karuna Brightening Treatment Mask promises to be revealing and enlightening, providing you with fresher, smoother looking skin. Completely paraben free and with a focus on natural ingredients, this mask sounded right up my street.

Each mask is made of all natural fibers, which helps the skin to absorb the ingredients, so that you get the full benefit of the ingredients blend. Each sachet is a use once mask, the fiber side feels like a wet wipe and have a plastic backing, all folded up into this sachet. Quite an odd looking product, ready to see me looking horrendous? This is what it looks like on, don’t I look gorgeous?!

The left photo shows what the mask looks like straight on, you then remove the plastic backing to allow the cloth to sit comfortably onto the skin. It’s a very cold feeling, very soothing, but yes you look horrible, so maybe pick a time when you have lots of time alone!

One of the key ingredients in this mask is Sodium Hyaluronate, which is also the key ingredient in my DermaQuest Advanced B5 Serum, which I can’t live without. Sodium Hyaluronate, is a fantastic hydrator, it holds 1000 times it’s molecular weight of moisture. Combined with Grapefruit Seed Extract, Grape Extract, Aloe Leaf and a little Salicylic Acid (which is commonly found in acne products, also great for exfoliation) you have a beautiful blend of peptides and anti-oxidants.

You leave the mask on for between 10-20 minutes, once you’ve removed the mask there is no need to rinse, you can simply massage the residue into the skin for an extra boost. The residue is quite sticky, but after a little massaging, you can really tell the difference.

After just one use, I can really tell the different, my skin is plumped, smooth, soft and brighter looking. I’m sure if you used this on a regular basis you’d really see the benefit. You can pick these beauties up from online shop Sparking or Still and I highly recommend them!

I think this type of mask is a far more convenient option to the usual clay based masks, which can cause such a mess!

What do you think? Have you tried anything like this?

  1. Excellent review and well done for posting those pics! I used to have facials every few months so not very often but to get a decent one now at a salon is just beyond my budget… good to read a review of a top end product you can use at home….

    1. It’s really effective, would be a great supplement or alternative to a professional treatment. Pleased you like my downright hideous photos!

  2. Ah these look really relaxing and calming!! Need some of these for a pampering sesh!
