Review: Badger Balm Sleep Balm

I was lucky enough to win a recent Twitter competition and was sent a gorgeous gift from Badger Balm, the prize featured lots of lovely things of which I plan to review over the coming weeks. First off, I’m going to review the Badger Balm Sleep Balm, since I’ve had trouble sleeping lately, I was excited to see if this product could help.

First off, how cute is the packaging?! You know what I am like with pretty packaging, absolutely love some cute packaging. All Badger Balms come in a metal tin and feature the iconic Badger illustration, each illustration represents the properties of that balm.

Badger Balm Sleep Balm is a completely organic product, as well as being cruelty free. The balm features top notes of Lavender, a essential oil that is well known as a soothing oil, fantastic for aiding sleep. Bergamot is the next essential oil, Bergamot is known for it’s mood boosting properties and has been known to be used as a anti-depressant.

So, this blend is great for calming, relaxing and uplifting. The balm form of this sleep balm makes for a very versatile product, before bed you can apply pretty much anywhere that you think would help. I’ve been applying it to my temples, pulse points and lips. It actually makes a really nice lip balm.

With aromatherapy products, I think you really have to partially believe in their effects to be actually able to feel them work. Personally, I am keen on holistic treatments such as aromatherapy, so felt like this did make a difference. However, there are no miracle cures for troublesome sleep, so manage your expectations.

Have you tried Badger Balms? Which ones do you like?

  1. Oh I love this too – really lovely smell & very soothing
    Nic x

  2. I’m a big fan of Badger Balm, I use the muscle rub regularly on achy limbs and it’s great. I bet this one smells divine, will have to give it a go!

    1. I won a Badger Balm hamper so I have a few other bits to try, including the Muscle Rub. I’ve tried the Foot Balm after ballet class last week and that was lovely. Also have two lip balms to try too, but I’ve got rather a lot of lip balms to get through first. Fantastic brand, love them. Thanks for the comment Jo!

  3. Seeing as I’m awake at 5.15 in the morning I think I better invest in some of this!

    1. Worth a try! I’ve been using some Lavender scented shower gel and body lotion from Organic Surge which I’ll write up soon too, I think a nice relaxing pre-bed routine certainly helps ease sleep, but if you’re ill (like I’ve been) it can be more challenging.

  4. I love the Badger products. I have the sleepy balm and the tangerine breeze lip and body balm.
