My Latest Make Up Purchases

Just a quick post to share with you my most recent beauty buys. Last month I feel back in love with Illamasqua after a little break and finally got myself matched to Skin Base Foundation in shade 03, the staff in the flagship Beak Street store were amazing.

The Skin Base Foundation is 100% the perfect shade and texture for me, I’m just experimenting with the best way to apply, at the moment I’m favouring fluffy brushes for buffing onto the skin, but I’ve been recommended a Sigma brush that I’ll be picking up soon to try instead.

At the weekend, after the make up lesson for Generation Q I decided to treat myself too, I picked up a much needed new brush roll, as my old one was incredibly tatty and Powder Blush in Morale, which I’ve been wanting ever since it first launched. It’s a frivolous sparkly pink colour which is super girly.

I’ve been wanting a pretty brush roll for ages, but so many places just do typical plain black, so I’m very happy with this beauty! Featuring the signature Narssisus illustration from Illamasqua, magnetic fastening and a metal Q logo.

Plus it’s got plenty of space for my current staple brush collection and rolls up neatly so perfect for travelling with as well as keeping my brushes tidy when at home.

The Illamasqua brush roll includes a Illamasqua lip brush too, which is a welcome addition to the collection, it’s got a great pointed end which will be amazing for eyeliner flicks and precise lipstick application.

What do you think of my new Illamasqua purchases?

  1. Love the brush roll! Thats one thing I need to invest in. Currently I just store all my brushes in empty Diptyque candle jars. How much was the brush roll, if you don’t mind me asking?

    1. Think it’s about £30 lovely including the lip brush.

  2. Ah, you gave in to the blush you’d been eyeing up then! x

    1. Oh yes! I flipping love it.

  3. Ah love the brush roll, really need to get one! I’ve still never been to Illamasqua, only been near one store and the girls looked so intimidating! x

    1. Don’t be intimidated by the Illasmaqua girls, in my experience they are the loveliest staff on the make up counters. MAC girls are far more intimidating. Let me know what you think!
