The Body Shop Shimmer Cube Palette in Pink

Here’s a review of another thing I picked up during the amazing 50% off The Body Shop promotion. I decided to try something from their make up range, because I’m enjoying experimenting with eye colours at the moment I thought I would try some eye make up from the range. I picked up one of the Shimmer Cube Palette, these come in five colour ways, I went for Pink.

I thought this would be a nice colour way for highlighting, blush and everyday looks it features a peach, pink, white and charcoal shade. All are shimmery, with a pearly appearance rather than a glittery look.

I find the packaging really interesting, as each cube is individually encased in perspex, you can pick them out meaning you could just take one shade with you or mix and match with other colours of the Shimmer Cube Palettes. It’s very cute and I’ve not seen this style in anything else, have you?

Some of the images of the product in action on The Body Shop website are quite deceiving in the way they depict the  pay off of these products, they make them looks really strong pigments, but I found that these colours were quite sheer and shimmery rather than bold colours. Really difficult to capture on camera to show you, but here’s my shot…

I used all four colours for a look together and they lasted well without a primer, however, I find wearing all shimmer together at the same time not for me, I think next time I’ll mix with different textures. The white works well as a highlighter in place of a Benefit High Beam on cheeks and brows. The pink looks great on cheeks too. For £16, I don’t think I would re buy at full price, I would rather spend that money on something else. Overall it’s an ok product, but I like the packaging a lot, although it can be fiddly if you’re in a rush.

What do you like from The Body Shop make up range?

  1. I do like the packaging of these and they look lovely despite not being so pigmented. But I do agree that £16 is quite a lot for them xx

    1. Really cool packaging, but so much better things to spend £16 on.
