Here’s another first for me, Oriflame is a catalogue brand very similar to Avon. It originates from Sweden and has been knocking around in the background since the 1970s, in fact, it turns out that my own Mum was a Oriflame consult when I was very little. The first time, I had heard about Oriflame was from one of my favourites, Hello Terri Lowe. And here’s my first try of the brand….
Introducing Oriflame’s take on the legendary, Clinique Chubby Stick, the Lip Impact Crayon. This one is in the shade Vibrant Almond, and yes, that is a strange name as I wouldn’t say a almond had a pink colour nor would I say this one was vibrant, but hey, ho, let’s just say it got lost in translation perhaps?
Anyway, the Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon is a slimmer crayon than the Clinique Chubby Stick and a little bit plumper than your standard eye pencil. The nib is soft and curved, very similar to the Chubby Stick but it doesn’t screw up, so I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do when it goes flat as I don’t reckon it would sharpen very well.
The Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon in Vibrant Almond is a soft brown toned rose pink, great for the daytime for a your lips but better kind of look. The pigmentation is slightly stronger than the standard Clinique Chubby Stick and not quite as strong as the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense. I really like this shade, it’s very useful and easy to wear and I think it would suit most skin tones and styles.
The texture is very comfortable to wear and has a good staying power. It doesn’t dry your lips out and if easy to reapply during the day without much fuss, very much like the Clinique Chubby Sticks. Think of it as a tinted lip balm but better. The packaging isn’t as exciting as other similar products, but the quality as certainly piqued my interest in the brand. At only £8.95 full price, it’s well worth a try, if you go have a look at their website now you can get them for only £5.95!
Here’s a full day time look I wore with Oriflame Sweden Lip Impact Crayon in Vibrant Almond. I’m wearing the Bourjois 8in1 BB Cream Foundation in Vanilla, Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil, all Inglot Eyeshadows, Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Allure and Pur Minerals Big Blink Mascara.
What do you think of the Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon and this shade?
Have you tried anything else from the Oriflame brand?
