One of my favourite fashion brands has got to be Fred Perry, I love brands that have a heritage to them and especially ones with a vintage vibe, so Fred Perry is spot on for me. The brand originally stemmed from Tennis clothing, but went on to be associated with Mods and 60s tailored styles.
For Autumn Winter 2013, Fred Perry has teamed up with Northern Soul nightclub, The Twisted Wheel. The Twisted Wheel popped up in the late 60’s/70’s and known as the home of the Northern Soul genre. The collection for me reminds me of my roots, being a Lancashire girl at heart I can’t resist the red rose emblems featured on this range. Here’s some of my fave pieces.
The classic twin tipped Fred Perry shirt dress has been given a 70s vibe with sewn on fabric patches featuring The Twisted Wheel memorabilia. So cool. They’ve adding a bit more tailoring to this than the usual jersey dress making it an awesome dancing dress.
It’s cold right now, we need knitwear. This simple sweater is a classic. To make it Northern it’s been embellished with Lancashire red rose emblem embroidery. Love it!
And then there’s the classic polo shirt, this time with the same Lancashire red rose print on it, but this time as an all over print instead of embroidery. Awesome!
I want all of it! Shame it out of my budget by a bit.
What do you think of Fred Perry?
How about this collection?
