It’s no secret that I’m a fan of slobbing about the house and most importantly, wearing PJ’s (ideally a onesie) for as long as possible when I don’t have to go anywhere. You might also know that most of my time at home is spent rinsing Netflix and LoveFilm, cooking comfort food and tweeting. And now, all of this is shared with my boyfriend Miz, to make things even more snuggly at mine, we were lucky enough to be treated to his and hers onesies to review and honestly, they’ve been well tested before writing this review.
I’m so lucky to have a boy who’s willing to get involved with blogging too, so here’s a little photoshoot we did together this morning, which was a lot of fun and will illustrate how much we’re loving our OnePiece onesies.
OnePiece is a Norwegian brand that was founded in 2007 and has quickly become known for its signature adult sized onesies that have been a hit among celebs, and now us! They’ve currently got a pop up shop on BoxPark just around the corner from my house, which I’ve seen many times, but didn’t know much more about the brand until we gave them a go.
All onesies are unisex and come in size XXS-XL, we’re both wearing M, which we opted for because of the extra length. But as you can see on my size 10 frame, it’s still quite loose, so a size 10 lady could definitely go for a smaller size for a slimmer fit, for me, I’m enjoying the loose fit, although do feel a bit like a dinosaur on occassions, but that’s a good thing surely?
Miz’s grey OnePiece is a fleece lined cotton fabric with an awesome white Norwegian print on it, which retails at £119. Mine is a lightweigh flannel style cotton and retails at £99. The size M is plenty long enough for us both, we’re about the same heigh at 5’11” (although Miz’s hair is certainly adding an extra inch at the moment). Both style have two sets of pockets, a front hoodie style pocket and two zipped pockets on the hips.
The OnePiece onesies zip from the crotch all the way through to the top of the hood, which I’m not sure what the benefit of that hood zip is, unless you’re playing some kind of weird game or finding it funny because you’re a bit tipsy/are a child at heart, but the double zip does have it’s advantage. I was hoping that it would allow me to go to the toilet without getting naked (the ultimate fail for the onesie and playsuit family for girls), but, alas it does not. However, if you’re a bloke, the double zip definitely makes peeing the cold much easier! For a girl, the double zip is pretty pointless, if anyone thinks of a reason for it, gimme a shout! Quick shout out to Miz and his super hot chest tattoo. Yum. If you’re the stalker type you can look him up on Twitter as his band @GrayscaleUK and on Instagram as @GuernicaShower. Miz has started contributing to my blog as well as writing on his band’s site too, which you can check out by clicking here. Anyway, boyfriend promotion over, back to the review.
Since the OnePiece onesies arrived, they’ve been our main clothing of choice. Awesome for pyjamas or slobbing about the house cooking and watching films. Miz’s onesie is warmer because of the fleece lining, so I’ve been wearing mine with layers underneath. They are very good quality: elasticated wrists and ankles make the loose fit work really well, the zips are chunky and smooth to use and the little details such as the embroidered logos on the zipper pulls and pockets give another nod to the quality.
Here’s us acting like children, jumping on the bed…
Yes, they are expensive, but you can see where the extra money has gone. As a new freelancer they wouldn’t be in my budget right now, but I think as a indulgence or as a gift item I don’t think the prices are unreasonable. So, there you go, OnePiece onesies in action and we both approve. Miz’s will be going on tour with him no doubt and has so far had many outings onto the balcony, we haven’t quite braved going to the shops in the them yet.
What do you think of OnePiece?
Are you a onesie fan? Would you wear one to the shops?
