If you’re looking for a brand that delivers professional results but at a fraction of the price, Kiko never fails to impress. Many of their items have made it into my everyday routine and I love their creative (if somewhat random) approach to new collections. For AW14 they are inspired by the Bond girl and the casino. Today I’m reviewing two of their Poker Nail Lacquers in shade 79 and 80
I love the casino dice inspired packaging, it’s simple, functional but with a playful side too, the cap is printed with dice numbers and slips off for a simple rounded brush handle which makes paint application a breeze. These shades are a deep, very dark burgundy and a classic, gothic black. Inspired by the gel nail trend, these shades produce a thick, smooth and super shiny finish without a top coat. I popped on Models Own Hypergel Top Coat out of habit and was really happy with the results.
It’s weird wearing black nail polish again, I haven’t worn it since I was 16, when it was a permanent part of my beauty routine in the form of Stargazer or Barry M blacks. The Kiko one is much more chic with it’s glossy finish and long lasting formula. The rest of the collection is looking equally awesome, watch this space for more review of this fun, sexy collection.
