Here’s a little hair care brand that you’ve probably never heard of. NHP or Natural Hair Program is a natural, sulphate free, organic and eco-friendly range and I’ve been testing out some shampoo and conditioner from their Nutri-Argan range.
The entire range is free from potentially irritating or aggressive synthetic ingredients such as SLES, DEA, parabens, paraffin and colourants. All the packaging is 100% recyclable and created using eco-friendly methods. So ticking lots of nice beauty boxes there.
The reason I wanted to try this range was because it’s sulphate free which is a great way to look after colour or treated hair. Sulphates are the ingredients in products that cause them to foam, it’s not 100% necessary and can be stripping or irritating for certain people/situations.
I opt for sulphate free for my hair type as I find it keeps my hair smoother looking (less flyaways) and helps maintain my hair colour for longer, so much better for people of those hair concerns. You may also benefit from sulphate free if you have sensitive or dry skin.
Here you’ve got the slightly confusingly named Hair Bath and Hair Mask instead of your standard shampoo and conditioner. But you can use them the same as normal shampoo and conditioner. Because there’s no sulphates the shampoo does not foam how you may be used to, it’s frothy but not bubbly, so can be difficult to get used to for application, but as long as you’re thorough you’ll be OK.
The Hair Mask or conditioner is a lovely thick, creamy texture and you can tell the improvement in your hair immediately. Both are enriched with Argan Oil, Macadamia Oil, Honey and Keratin, so awesome for repairing hair and keeping it moisturised. I don’t really like the smell, but the textures and results with these guys is great and at a very affordable £9.60 each, you can find them here, I’d recommend them and would definitely try other things from the range.
