So, as I mentioned in my previous hair colouring post I’m currently combating fast fading hair, it’s on its way back to being manageable but at the moment I’m topping up the colour more than normal. A few weeks ago, I went red for a short lived period using a mix of Superdrug Ultra Brights Rebellious Red and Colour Freedom Crimson Red, also from Superdrug.
I’ve used Colour Freedom a few times now and really like it, it’s a good quality product with a nice selection of shades and easy to pick up in Superdrug. The big tubes last a few gos sometimes as well and the idea with mixing with the Superdrug Ultra Brights was to make the dye go further but without spending as much money. I got on so well with the Ultra Brights orange so was really looking forward to seeing the red in action.
I used up the whole tube of Superdrug Ultra Brights Rebellious Red and half of the Colour Freedom and layered it on top of a faded orange which is why the end shade still has that orange tint to it. Both coloured mixed well together, I used a bowl and tint brush to mix and the texture was easy to work with. I’ve got another half a tube of Colour Freedom for another top up at a later date. It’s faded back to a yellowy orange now, but I love this shade, sort of a Strawberry Jelly shade and the red counteracted the patches of blue still left in my hair really well.
More hair dying adventures coming soon!
