Jayne’s Alternative Guide to Black Friday 2015

I kinda feel a bit weird about Black Friday and Cyber Monday being a thing in the UK now which is supposed to be the post-Thanksgiving sales, it is just a big marketing excuse for companies to make more money and genuinely fuels a bit of insanity of people buying pointless stuff that they don’t really need. However, it’s not just the big corporate brands out there that are taking part now, so I wanted to take some time to highlight some of the small, indie and alt brands that are out there that would appreciate your money quite a bit more than those big companies.

There are GAZILLIONS and amazing small brands out there and pretty much something for everyone, many of the online only ones are one man bands too, so you know that the money you spend there is going to fund that individuals dreams and life, rather than going into the pocket of some multi-billionaire CEO who’ll just keep adding to his collection of classic cars that don’t really get driven that much. Help fuel small, creative, independent brands who have bags of individuality and amazingness by checking out some of these beauties. You can also check out my Etsy Gift Guides for some more indie brand love!

If graphic, fun tees are your thing, check out Manchester based t-shirt printing brand Hero and Cape who are offering a massive 50% off across their site with the code BLACKFRIDAY (obviously) I like their Awesomesauce design which is available on long and short sleeves and lovely 100% cotton.

Sugar & Vice is just a two person company based in Canterbury making awesome, cheerful laser cut acrylic jewellery and they’re offering 35% off personalised items, lovely Instagram snap from @eyelinerflicks

The super cute and kawaii Glitterbomb (just one little lady running this brand!) are offering 40% off until Monday, although they specialise in acrylic jewellery they’ve recently expanded their range of adorably printed nylon clothing too. I really dig their Sailor Moon bits and bobs.

If you need a wardrobe refresh in time for December, check out Mod Dolly, a wonderful London based brand made up of a very small team headed up by my lovely friend, Amy. They’re offering a range of offers throughout the day of up to 40% on selected items. Keep an eye on their social and site for updates!

If food with faces is your kinda thing you can get 50% off at Little Miss Delicious right now and 20% off on her Etsy shop, this brand is just one lovely lady and everything is hand made and hand painted, SO cute!

I’ll update this post throughout the morning with any others that I find, let me know if you have a biz that has something that you think I’d like to include either in the comments, email or via social! Happy Shopping!

And some more…

Brighton based Etsy seller Victoria Sol who makes handmade chainmaille jewellery and accessories is offering 20% off orders over £10

One of my faves, Hand Over My Fairy Cakes will be releasing lots of spot offers and exclusives on their social media throughout the day, so give them a follow to keep up to date.

Colourful, handmade clothing brand from Brighton BluFruit will be offering a wonderful 50% off.
