I’ve always had a massive appreciation for cute socks, probably due to the English tradition of socks for every gifting occasion, maybe it’s because they’re an affordable way to treat yourself or update your outfit? I used to be all about the multi-buy offers in the big high street chain stores, but over the past few years I’ve discovered a pretty long list of brilliant indie and smaller brands to support in the world of socks! So, whether you’re looking to sock shop for yourself or a gift, I hope you’ll find this guide useful in discovering something new.
Katie Abey Designs
You may already be familiar with Katie Abey Designs, her cheerful illustrated characters are iconically hers with their playful and hilarious pun themes on a variety of merch. Just this month, Katie announced the launch of her first sock collection and it’s absolutely spot on. There’s currently four designs in her sock range at £6 each or you can buy the whole set for only £20. The rainbow striped pair are my faves. Katie has a bricks and mortar shop in Alfreson, UK and you can also shop her entire range on Etsy.
You probably already know of Happy Socks, as this Scandinavian brand has been popping up all over Europe with their colourful collection of socks and underwear. The current line-up features collaborations with the likes of Keith Haring, The Beatles and Montana Cans (a street art supplies brand). The prices are a little higher than other places, but they frequently run multi-buy offers and end of season sales if you want to pick up a bargain!
Moustard London are relative newbie to the world of socks and small accessories has an epic range of cotton sock designs created in the UK. Aimed originally at men, the diverse range includes designs that honour some of Europe’s best cities, space, fruit, animals and more. The colourful collection retails at a fair price and there really is a design for everyone. We love their boxed gifts too!
Hailing from Slovenia, sock brand Zuluzion has been around since 2015 and have a vast range of designs to choose from. We love their vibrant 80s Memphis design influenced collection that is currently online but we’ll be keeping our eye on their future launches too! Their designs are woven into Italian 88% cotton blends, so are sure to be a great quality!
Although not strictly a sock brand, TruffleShuffle has a great selection of officially licensed socks to bring a smile to your face. Superhero socks with capes, Pusheen, Star Wars and nostalgic snacks are the themes of the day on this nerdy site.
With over 280 different design options, gift boxes and various sock lengths, Canadian brand, Studio Sock has loads to choose from! From food themes to animals to classic patterns there’s something for everyone and free worldwide shipping!
We’ll add some more colourful and cute sock shops to this list in the future, but for now we hope you’ll enjoy this edit. We recently launched a CMK merch shop, which includes a pair of socks! So if you want to show your support for our content, check that out!
