With Halloween just around the corner we thought it would be wise to compile a little shopping list to counter all the random plastic crap on the High Street. There are loads of indie brands producing great Halloween themed merchandise (some of them all year round) so if you’re still on the look out for […]
Another brand that I’m not sure how I stumbled upon, I think I found them on Instagram originally and totally dug their concept. Oh Deer Sugar is an Australian based brand run by two vegan friends Shani & Nikki and they’ve been baking up non-edible bakery goods since 2013. They now have an Adelaide based store, a totally divine Instagram account and an online shop that normally offers international delivery.

Here’s another brand that I can’t even tell you how I found them, it was another stumble upon on Instagram style story and I instantly fell in love. La Vidriola are based in Valencia in Spain, but ship worldwide, they’re made up of Pablo & Blanca, essentially a Spanish version of the awesome Sugar & Vice but with their own look and aesthetic. I haven’t shopped with these guys yet, but the wishlist is as long as my S&V list.

Here’s something a little different. I’ve been aware of The Sad Ghost Club for AGES as their branding is so cute and recognisable, but it wasn’t until recently that I noticed how popular they are within the music scene that me and Miz are involved with, via a Facebook group, that I truly realised how amazing the concept actually is. This Bristol based girl powered duo are pretty damn special.

Running a little behind on this project, but oh well! There’s bigger things in the world to be worrying about right now. Anyway, time for a double whammy of day 9 & 10 on the same day you lucky people, I hope I can brighten your day even just a little bit with some creative, indie biz loveliness. Today is my 7th Blog Birthday too, WTF?
Anyway, I met the lovely lady behind Silly Old Sea Dog at London Edge last year via the magnificent Perelandra and instantly fell in love with the brand. Everything is made in the UK and they cater to sizes 6-24 including custom designs. They have a gorgeous range of practical, vintage inspired silhouettes in a variety of kitsch, colourful, cute and playful prints. It’s pretty much my ideal dress brand.

I love Etsy so much. It’s such a great platform for indie and small brands and creatives to get started with a business in a professional and efficient way. There are SO many talents on there too and an incredibly community around the world too. One of the gazillion talented people on Etsy is Brighton dweller, Toby who is the bright spark behind I Like Cats.
There’s a discount code at the end if you can make it that far?!

CutECOsmetics have been part of my life for quite a long time now. I knew the original owner very well, helped with odds and ends and they are now one of my oldest freelance clients and a brand that is extremely close to my heart. They’re a husband and wife team who stock the best indie, cruelty free, vegan and eco friendly beauty brands from around the world. Great products, excellent speedy customer service and you’re supporting a family business too. Awesome.

I met Amy from Mod Dolly about 4 years ago, when I modelled for one of her clothing collections on a photoshoot with fellow blogger and now photographer, Emily Tyler. It was the same day I met Sara from Hello The Mushroom too who was helping on the shoot. Anyway, if you don’t know this little brand from London yet, you should! If you’re looking for classic, timeless clothing with a vintage twist, that are handmade & good quality, you’ll be a fan I’m sure.

Baccurelli felt like an especially lovely next brand to feature after I got in touch with them to see if they wanted to get involved, as they mentioned a mutual love for yesterday’s team, Sugar & Vice who helped Baccurelli figure out setting up their biz. Today’s #IndieLove team is made up of graphic designer Meli and her husband, Hugo and they are based in sunny L.A. I stumbled upon them via Instagram not that long ago and instantly fell in love with their geeky, 60s vibe designs, particularly Meli’s sweet doll designs.
Read to the end for a little promo very kindly from these guys…

If you’re a regular reader you know that indie brand Sugar & Vice have a special place in my heart. They’ve been around since 2007 and I’ve followed and adored their work since the first day I stumbled upon them. I can’t even remember how I stumbled upon them. I’ve never met Sarah, but I randomly met Matt in real life by bumping into him in Brighton (where he doesn’t live) to be greeted by “I made that!!” when he saw my necklace, we were in Tiger, it was cool that a stranger said hi and then when it clicked who it was it was one of those small world moments. Anyway, ramble over, the brand is based in Canterbury and is made up of just the two of them who design, cut and assemble everything.
