One of the most frustrating things as a creative person is having an idea which you don’t have the time/energy/money to see through to the end. For me personally, it’s always a massive de-motivator which has frequently stopped me from starting projects in the first place, which is of course, puts you back at that cycle of wanting to do something but not quite getting there. So, to help me get over that barrier, I’m pleased to announce my first Mercht campaign, which is live for the next 8 days only, you can find it here.

The idea of committing to doing something positive to myself to develop some ideas I have every day and sticking to it, all started when I moved to Spain four (five?! WTF?) months ago. I was supplementing the language lessons I started using the app, Duolingo which rewards you for sticking to a routine, it quickly got me committed to learning, which made me think there was more to this daily challenge thing. Before this I’d been kinda anti-routine and used to get frustrated and bored by doing the same things all the time, recently I’ve started to see the value of a routine and what it can do to positively influence you and the people around you.
Inktober, you started off to well, but was it worth it?….

A long, long time ago in a city far, far away in Central Yorkshire, I lived and worked part time at a lovely vintage inspired apothecary and boutique called Rose & Co. We sold various gorgeous things from brands like Paul & Joe, What Katie Did and our own brand which at the time was largely cooked at home on an old fashioned oven by founder Caroline Rose. My time at Rose & Co taught me about pin-up and burlesque, how to fit corsets and how to do Victory Rolls. I didn’t work there for long but its influence has stayed with me to this day. So, I’m very pleased to be able to share with you a little competition to win a slice of the company for yourself. I’m running this out of sheer, genuine love for this brand and its owners.

FINALLY! I have photos and information on the latest Dr. Martens Adventure Time collection, which launched officially yesterday I believe, although the DM website is down so I can’t say for sure. What I really wanted to show you were the blooming photos, I’ve asked the brand direct a few times and not had any help in getting this info and only found it thanks to @inkypics on Instagram tagging me in a post from Blue Banana.
The BMO ones are absolutely perfect, really, really love them and would totally wear these cuties.

I have got to admit it, I DID overreact quite a bit when I spotted this collection, but it’s SO me it’d be silly if I wasn’t excited, now just to find some spare cash to treat myself and decide which pieces are worthy for a place in my concise wardrobe. I used to always be a Converse girl but ever since buying my first pair of Vans, I’ve been totally converted and they’re now my main choice for footwear.

Yes, it was Valentine’s Day yesterday but to avoiding being a cliche I thought I’d share this heart shaped wish list the day after instead since I love these cuties because they are heart themed and nothing to do with V-Day and I’d wear these things any day of the year for sure. If money was no object I’d likely own every last thing on this collage TODAY! Obviously it’s all red, because I just don’t do pink!

Facebook memories popped up today to remind me that it’s been a year now since I re-branded my blog in both name, branding and design. I thought it’d be interesting to take this moment to evaluate what difference this made to my site and if it was worth it. I know it’s one of those things that bloggers always stress over a lot, so may be helpful to some of you, I imagine this will ramble into some kind of rant too.

I’ve had a bit of a weird day today visiting London Edge I’ll try and blog about it at a later date, but right now I want to have a bit of a ramble. I finally got to meet Perelandra of Pamper and Curves today and she’s inspired my to write this blog after it’s been lurking in my brain for a bit. In Perelandra’s talk today she started by talking about how when she had her first child it changed her body and made her feel like she’s lost her style identity, this is obviously a common thing to happen to women and even though I’m not with child (although someone did ask me if I was recently, LOL) or likely to be anytime soon, I can totally relate to this sentiment.
