You know me, I like to mess around with my hair and give hairdresser’s mild anxiety. However I’ve worked with beauty and hair brands for over 6 years, whilst being interested in the field since forever. I’m also a bit of a nerd when it comes to the science and the ingredients, so I like to think that I go into DIY hair colouring and cutting with some decent knowledge and a little bravery. I’m not professional, although I would have loved to have seen where that career choice may have taken me, I enjoy being in charge of my hair, whilst also being able to save time and money that I don’t always have to pay a professional. If I could pay a professional every time I feel like changing my hair, I would.

I really cannot believe how quickly so many people dive into bleaching their hair and then wonder why their hair is so broken after treating it so badly. I don’t think many people realise the significant amount of care and caution you need to sign up to when you commit to a drastic hair change. So, here I’m going to share some more words of wisdom for you from my personal experience on how to best look after dry, damaged, bleached and over processed hair, hair a bit like Jem’s here…

It’s Summer and time for another hair colour change. I’ve had blue or purple hair for the past six months whilst I recovered my hair from too much harsh treatments and some mess ups with dye, also known as don’t use three high levels of bleach products within the same week unless you want to kill your hair. So, time to get the new look Scott Cornwall range in and get the hair updated.

So, I recently discovered what happens when you mess with your hair too much and am in the process of bringing it back to health, thought this might be a useful post for many of you. I bleached my hair for the first time ever about three months ago and then made the mistake of doing three other strong treatments within a week of it, with the dye I use (typically Directions semi-permanent) it doesn’t harm your hair and it’s very conditioning, but when you use something strong with chemicals like peroxide or ammonia in them, that’s when things can get messy.
